Farther Frontiers

A little town stands in the middle of a frontier. The town's great walls loom over its shops, farms, houses, and taverns. This little pocket of civilization is safe, but isolated: others are few and far in between. Ancient ruins lie scattered and undisturbed for centuries, their broken spires jutting out of the snowy mountain-sides. Tree-tops stretching across the horizon are singing their siren song. While some people are content with a peaceful life protected from the dangers of the world, others are not. At first, most who walked through the town's gate would never be seen again. But those select few who possessed the predisposition did return, and in their arms were artifacts imbued with ancient magics. Their epic tales sparked rumors, growing wilder with each retelling. And soon, adventuring became a thrilling and promising prospect. Some turn to adventuring to make a profit, while others turn to it from a religious obligation, or sheer wanderlust. No matter the cause, these daring adventurers find themselves in a vast unexplored wilderness where danger lurks around every corner. The frontier will test the limits of their wit, strength, and power of will, and only the greatest shall prevail.

You are such adventurer because you feel a calling in your bones to adventure, and your spirit is crying for leaving. A mundane life doesn’t appeal to you. You are determined to leave behind the safety of civilization and explore the wilderness to make your name. You will choose where to go and what to do. The adventure is in your hands, and the world will never be the same.

Farther Frontiers is a fantasy adventure TTRPG that combines elements of exploration, survival, and combat. It uses modern design to fulfill old-school style gaming. Leave the safety of civilization behind and venture into the wilderness to make your name!

Roadmap to Release

The game will be released in two parts.

Quick Rules

The intention with the quick rules is to allow you and your players to immediately play, while cutting anything that you will not need to immediately play, including progression.

These rules are currently available for download, and have everything you need to play including pre-filled character sheets and an adventure module.

In the next few weeks I will be adding short videos breaking down the character sheet, and the rules.

Full Rules

Good news is that 99% of the design for the full rules is finished. Bad news is that compiling that into a good looking PDF and playtesting everything will be a TON of effort. The plan is to release the quick rules first, and see if there is enough interest to justify the work it would take for a full rules release.

If you choose to donate any amount, 100% of that money will go towards art, proofreading, layout, etc... of the full rules. When the full rules release, you will have access to them.
